FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) – A hazmat situation is wrapped up at the old IRS building on Butler Street in South Fresno.
Around 1:30 on Tuesday, April 21st, an employee called 9-11 when an envelope in their mail sorting area smelled like sulfer.
“We brought whole Hazmat team out and made entry after everybody was evacuated to make sure that what we had was a Hazmat. It wasn’t and what we just had was an envelope that smelled suspiciously like sulfur but no product found.” Pete Martinez, Fresno Fire Department PIO
Martinez says the fire department cleared employees to go back to work about an hour later.
