A valley community is coming together to help a 13 year old battle cancer. He was diagnosed with leukemia in November of last year – and Marco Arias is currently being treated at Valley Children’s Hospital.
He attends Firebaugh middle school – and with chemotherapy taking a toll on him – staff and students there are doing whatever they can to help him feel better.
“What they did is they organized first a Facebook page for Marco”, says Principal Marcus Sosa. “And that Facebook page led into a group of teachers organizing a whole school lip dub here on campus with our entire student population”.
The lip-dub is essentially a music video with people miming the words of a well known tune. It features staff and students from Firebaugh Middle School. Marco has just finished a six week block of treatment – and the video will be presented to him at the school this afternoon. The aim of it all is to help raise money for medical and travel expenses. You can help with it through their GoFundMe account (link is here).
But – it is a surprise – so if you know Marco – make sure the surprise stays a secret until he knows about it.
