FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The DMV says more than 4.7 million California drivers have had their licenses revoked, because they’ve failed to pay their tickets or appear in court.
Getting hit with a $100 fine can cost you around $500, after various fees and assessments are tacked on. If you miss the initial deadline, you can rack up several hundred dollars more.
Activists blame the state for relying on the revenue the tickets generate. But, Governor Jerry Brown is proposing a program, which would allow more time to pay traffic fines.
