FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California Water Resources Department has drafted what it calls a strategic plan, for implementing the state’s first-ever groundwater restrictions.
They come as groundwater use has skyrocketed, due to the drought, causing some wells to malfunction.
The department says the regulations would help to reduce over-drafting, and guard groundwater basins, by allowing to state to have more oversight.
