The American Farm Bureau believes EPA’s proposal to place further restrictions on air quality standards would damage agriculture and rural communities if implemented.
Tightening already strict ozone standards would impose significant cost to farmers and ranchers without a guaranteed benefit to the public, according to AFBF’s formal comments submitted to EPA.
AFBF Executive Director of Public Policy Dale Moore says the proposed ozone standards would limit business expansion in nearly every populated region of the U.S., creating fewer jobs and making U.S. industry less competitive in the world market.
