FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Governor Jerry Brown has pledged $50 million to campuses who can show that they’re developing new concepts, which help students graduate with a B.A. within 4 years.
The governor has long been critical of public universities, saying their failure to adapt to the 21st century, has resulted in poor graduation rates and resources being wasted.
52 campuses, including those within the U.C., CSU and community colleges systems, have submitted proposals.
Their ideas, such as Fresno State’s tablet initiative, are also being closely examined by college advocacy groups.
