FRESNO (KMJ) — The good times are certainly over – the cost of filling up at the gas station is steadily rising and analysts are now starting to see record jumps.
In Los Angeles right now – the average price of a gallon of gas is $3.48.
In Fresno the average price is just over a dime cheaper at $3.37.
But experts say it's still not as bad as it was last year.
"To put this jump in perspective the current price is still a discount to a year ago at 97c per gallon", says fuel price analyst Trilby Lundberg.
The cost of gas has been going up country-wide.
Lunberg says a limited supply and a change to the summer blend here is driving Golden State prices up.
"In the state of California the price jumped nearly 57c because southern California is the first place to get hit with higher cost summer blend gasoline".
Experts say it bottomed out six weeks ago – and the only way it can go now is up.
