FRESNO (KMJ) — A new principal will soon be setting foot at Fort Miller Middle School – but it seems some parents were out of the loop.
Fresno Unified School Board made the decision yesterday to replace Principal Deborah Buckman with Mike Jones.
The call came amongst allegations of increased violence on campus – with some teachers either transferring away from the school – or even quitting the profession altogether.
"Nobody's informed the parents", said one father outside the school gates this morning. I hear the school's going down academic wise and there's too many activities with cops coming around".
But others were surprised at the news.
"All of my grandchildren have gone here", said a grandmother outside the school gates. "They've all done very well and all been very happy. We don't even realize any of that's going on"
The new principal – Mike Jones – is set to start on Monday.
