Smartphone Thefts Decline as More Phones Have Kill Switches

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Cellphone thefts are on the decline, thanks to the kill switches manufacturers have been installing.

In San Francisco, the figure has dropped by 27%.

A law has been passed, which will mandate that all smartphones sold in California come with software that can render them useless, if they're lost or stolen.
