FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The State of California could save millions of dollars in expenses related to tobacco use, if smokers just kicked the habit.
According to WalletHub, California spends around $1.5 million per smoker, with a noticeable chunk of that spent on medical care.
Meanwhile, the American Lung Association says although the state has made progress in curbing tobacco use, more needs to be done to discourage smoking, and to protect non-smokers.
