2015 Strategic Plan in Place for Farm Bureau

The American Farm Bureau Federation’s board of directors set the organizations 2015 strategic plan for public policy this week.

AFBF President Bob Stallman says the organization will work to advance all the issue positions approved by its delegates this week, but the plan represents the issue areas Farm Bureau believes it and its grassroots members have clear opportunities to achieve success at this time.

Those issues include advancing legislation to address ag’s long and short-term labor needs, protecting farmers’ abilities to use biotechnology and other innovative technologies, opposing expansion of federal jurisdiction under the Clean Water Act and advancing legislation to reform the Endangered Species Act.

An additional list of issues were approved by the board that will require diligent monitoring as they develop this year including international trade opportunities, business tax reform and farm bill implementation.
