A Mexican national has pleaded guilty in connection to a toxic marijuana grow in the Sequoia National Forest.
David Arreola Villarreal, along with five other co-defendants, are believed to have grown more than 8,800 plants, which caused extensive damage to the land and natural resources.
Officials say native oak trees and other vegetation were cut down and an illegal rat poison was used throughout the grow site.
