Body of Fallen Sailor from Lemoore to Return Home

HANFORD, CA. (KMJ) — The body of fallen sailor Oscar Temores is returning to his hometown of Lemoore.

The escort will have family, military, law enforcement, and the American Warrior riders.

Sailor Temores will be flown to the San Jose Airport and escorted through NAS Lemoore Thursday morning before heading to People’s Funeral Chapel in Hanford.

The escort will follow Highway 198 to the 3rd/Doughty St. off-ramp, then travel north on Doughty St. to the funeral home, located at 501 N Douty St.

Oscar Temores, a Lemoore native, was injured in the crash while on duty at Fort Story.

According to the Navy Times, Temores was responding to a report of a gate runner when his police cruiser was hit head-on by a pickup driven by 38-year-old Nathaniel Campbell of Shenandoah, Virginia.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital but Temores died from his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation and Campbell has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

23-years-old Temores leaves behind a wife, Bethany, and a 2-year-old son, Damien.

Temores was a Master-At-Arms for the United States Navy for over a year. He was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.

A GoFundMe account has been set up for his family, which says Temores made an impact on every face he interacted with through his ability to make anyone laugh or smile.
