Thanks To KMJ Listeners A Record Breaking $400,000 Presented By GAR Tootelian, Inc. to Central California Food Bank

EASTON, CA (KMJ) – A record-breaking $400,000 check was presented to the Central California Food Bank by GAR Tootelian, Inc.

Central California Food Bank and Gar Tootelian, Inc., in partnership with KMJ Radio, Fresno Madera Farm Credit and CoBank held a highly successful Funds Drive on Friday, September 13, 2019 at The Market.

On Thursday, November 7th, the check presentation ceremony was held at the Portuguese Hall in Easton.

“Six years ago, Karen and Greg Musson of Gar Tootelian, Inc. came to us and asked how they could help us in the fight against hunger. From that conversation, GAR Match was born with a goal of raising 33,000 meals,” said Andy Souza, President and CEO of Central California Food Bank.

During the Funds Drive, Gar Tootelian, Inc., donated more than $0.50 for every $1.00 donated to Central California Food Bank during GAR Match in the month of September.

“The Valley is not only the most bountiful growing region in California and it is also the most generous. Every year, people dig a little deeper to help give hope to families struggling with hunger. Our thanks to all the generous donors who participated this year! It is truly inspiring to be part of a community that is so generous,” Karen Musson, Partner at Gar Tootelian, Inc.

As the beneficiaries of GAR Match, Central California Food Bank raised $400,000.

The Central California Food Bank says it’s the most money the drive has ever raised.

“We continue to be in awe of the outpouring of support and the generous matching gift provided by GAR Tootelian, Inc. which will provide 2.8 million meals for children, families and seniors in need this year,” said Souza.

For every $1.00 donated, Central California Food Bank can provide up to 7 meals to neighbors in Central California.
