Chowchilla Student Struck on Scooter, Police Arrest Teen Driver

 

CHOWCHILLA, CA (KMJ) – Chowchilla Police arrest a teenage driver who they said hit a student on a scooter then drove off.

Police say it happened just after 8:00 am Tuesday morning.

Officers say a teen boy was riding his scooter, heading to Chowchilla High School when he was struck at 7th and Humboldt.

Police said the boy was hit by another teenage boy, who then fled the scene in his car.

Chowchilla Police made an arrest hours later, finding the driver who had left his car by 6th and Mariposa.

Investigators are going over surveillance video to try determine who is at fault.

The student is expected to be OK, after being sent to the hospital, suffering minor injuries.
