PG&E Public Forums Taking Customer Input on Rate Increase Request

 

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – PG&E is holding public forums Wednesday for customers to give input on a rate increase request.

PG& E provides natural gas and electric service to approximately 16 million people in Northern and Central California.

The utility says it to take precautionary measures to further reduce wildfire risks, harden infrastructure and increase vegetation management.

In December, Pacific Gas and Electric Company submitted an application requesting the California Public Utility Commission approve an increase in its gas, electric distribution, and generation by $1 billion dollars (12.4 percent) in 2020 over current revenues, by $454 million (or 4.7 percent) in 2021; and by $486 million ( 4.8 percent) in 2022.

The first public forum is at 1:00 Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Fresno City Council Chambers, the second forum is at 6:00p.m.
