Brand Commits to Cleaner Fresno at State of City Address

Mayor Lee Brand speaks to a crowd of 900 during his third State of the City address.

FRESNO (KMJ) – Fresno Mayor Lee Brand addressed a crowd of about 900 people at the Fresno Convention Center for his third annual State of the City address.
“We have seen unprecedented growth during my tenure as mayor,” Brand said.
Mayor Brand says he’s bringing a new initiative forward this year, to make Fresno a cleaner, more beautiful city.
“We are officially launching a new initiative, Keep Fresno Beautiful, that will develop and support public and private partnerships, with the goal of establishing sustainable programs, not one week, not one month, sustainable, year-to-year programs, to effectively tackle trash in the City of Fresno,” Brand said.
And although the mayor says he is not seeking a second term, he promises to finish strong.
“I will not be a caretaker mayor,” Brand said. “And I will set the bar high, I stand by that promise. I am still focused like a laser on job creation and economic development.”
