(KMJ) – An Excessive Heat Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Hanford remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday with temperatures reaching as high as 105 degrees.
But, those seeking relief from the heat are warned NOT to do so in Valley waterways currently swelled by snow melt in the Sierra. The Kings River remains closed to public access and use in Tulare, Kings and Fresno Counties. And a flood advisory remains in effect for that waterway in those counties until 9 p.m. Tuesday .
Other rivers and streams are running swift and cold due to continuing snow melt. And meteorologists say, as long as the region is baked by triple-digit heat, those dangerous conditions will continue.
