VISALIA, CA (KMJ) — A volunteer pilot and flight officer escape injury after Kings County Sheriff’s Office patrol plane makes an emergency landing.

SkyKing1 was on routine patrol Wednesday evening over the area of State Route 43 and Oregon Ave, when they radioed they were experiencing problems with the single engine on the plane.

Despite losing power 1,200 feet off the ground, the aircraft was able to land safely on the airstrip at Boswell Airport in Corcoran.

Engine malfunction was reportedly the cause.
