Death Penalty Sought for ‘Golden State Killer’ Suspect

FRESNO, CA (KMJ)  The suspected “Golden State Killer” will be put to death – if prosecutors get their way.
On Wednesday, six district attorneys agreed to consolidate the case to Sacramento.
Joseph DeAngelo appeared in court for the brief hearing where the DA’s announced they would seek the death penalty, if he’s convicted.
Prosecutors believe the 73-year-old former cop killed 13 people and raped dozens in six California counties in the 70s and 80s.
The death penalty remains in limbo, however, after Governor Gavin Newsom recently placed a moratorium on executions.
