Tulare County Man Convicted of Murder, Child Molestation

TULARE, CA (KMJ) – A Tulare County man is convicted of murder and child molestation.

The Tulare County District Attorney said a jury at the Tulare County Superior Court convicted Hector Gonzalez of first-degree murder on Tuesday.

Court documents say Gonzalez sexually abused a young girl from the time she was 10 to the time she was 14,

On January 1, 2016, a missing persons report was filed for 32-year-old Krickett Enriquez, his former girlfriend, and the 8-year-old child they shared.

The Tulare DA’s Office said Gonzalez was out on bail on sexual assault charges when he stabbed his girlfriend 21 times, four of which were determined to be fatal.

Officers searching his apartment complex found her body under a tarp in the parking lot.

Visalia Police detectives canvassed the apartment complex and located Gonzalez, along with the 8-year-old.

He was immediately taken into custody.

The sexual assaults occurred between Feb. 13, 2010, and Oct. 30, 2014.

Gonzalez faces 108 years-to-life behind bars when he’s sentenced May 3. 2019.
