Tulare PD Clarifies Communications with ICE

TULARE, Calif. (KMJ) — The Tulare Police Dept. clarified its communications with federal immigration officials Monday.

The department said a box was “inadvertently” checked on a contract with an equipment vendor, who supplies license plate readers.

That allowed data to be shared with ICE.

However, Tulare PD says such communication is inconsistent with California’s sanctuary state policies, and is therefore being stopped.
