Halloween Attack on Local Synagogue Being Investigated as Hate Crime

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A second Halloween attack has been reported on a Fresno place of worship.

First, Corner Stone Church at the Wilson Theatre had its historic ticket booth vandalized, and a mutilated animal carcass was left at the stage entrance.

Then, as Fresno Police Lieutenant Mark Hudson tells KMJ News, the Temple Beth Israel Synagogue was struck, “The north wall, the name “Israel” had been vandalized and taken off the wall, where “Temple Beth Israel” is on that wall. Some of the letters were on the ground below.”

Hudson adds that, “It is being investigated right now as a hate crime, and anybody with information on this crime are asked to call the Fresno Police Department right away.”
