FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A suspect sought in a weekend double murder in Fresno’s Tower District turns himself in to police on the Central Coast.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer held a press conference Monday, saying the deadly shooting at Fresh Ink Tattoo on 564 E. Olive was an isolated incident.

27-year-old Cruz Hinojosa was an employee at the shop, and Chief Dyer said he had gotten in an argument before Saturday night’s shooting.

“We have physical evidence and information that causes our detectives to know without a doubt that there was there was illegal narcotics activity occurring inside this tattoo parlor, and we’re still trying to determine whether that illegal activity led up to the altercation and ultimately, the shooting,” said Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.

Chief Dyer says Hinojosa’s wife helped detectives to get him to turn himself in.

He later confessed to the shooting. Chief Dyer said Hinojosa believed he had actually shot and killed three people.
