FRESNO CA (KMJ) – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is sending out a warning about a phone scam.
It says a man, pretending to be a Sheriff’s Sergeant, has been making phone calls to people in the county regarding outstanding warrants.
According to information given to the Sheriff’s Office, the man identifies himself as Madera County Sheriff’s Sergeant Paul Eubanks and calls from a 559 area code. He has also set up a voicemail with the same identifying information.
The Sheriff’s Office says it will never request funds or personal identifying information over the phone. If you receive a call like this, call the Madera County Sheriff’s Dispatch at (559) 675-7770.
