A Conviction In Kern County After A Man Is Hired by Another To Rape His Wife

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Kern County’s District Attorney Lisa Green announces a conviction in a significant rape case after a man is hired by another man to rape his wife.

On May 11th, a Kern County jury convicted Haliki Green Jr. of rape in concert, sexual penetration with force, assault, false imprisonment, and enhancements for personal infliction of great bodily injury and tying and binding the victim.

On March 4, 2016, Russell Higgins hired Haliki Green Jr. to rape his wife, the victim.

The two men traveled to the victim’s home and waited inside of her bedroom anticipating her return home from work. When she walked into her bedroom, both Higgins and Green attacked her.

They tied and bound her hands and physically restrained her from leaving the bedroom. At the direction of Russell Higgins, Haliki Green Jr. raped the victim against her will.

The victim suffered great bodily injury.

The defendants had separate jury trials.

On April 26, 2018, a Kern County jury convicted Russell Higgins of rape in concert, sexual penetration with force, assault, false imprisonment, witness intimidation, and enhancements for personal infliction of great bodily injury and tying and binding the victim.

Higgins is scheduled to be sentenced on May 24, 2018,  while Haliki Green Jr. is scheduled to be sentenced on June 7, 2018.

Both men face a potential sentence of 50 years to life in prison.
