Fresno FC – The City’s New USL Team – Unveiled

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Fresno Football Club was unveiled on Wednesday, a new 2018 United Soccer League (USL) team.  The announcement was made at Chukchansi Park, where Fresno FC will call home – sharing the venue with the Fresno Fuego and Fresno Grizzlies.

“I’m firmly and passionate of the belief that this is one of the best soccer markets in the country,” said Fresno FC owner Ray Beshoff. The club will pair up with the Fresno Fuego. “My team is so impressed with the job that the Fuego have done,” added Beshoff.  “The fans of the Fuego are the best in the country at the PDL level.”

The team’s General Manager, Frank Yallop, a two-time Major League Soccer Coach of the Year and former English Premier League player, unveiled the Fresno FC crest and logo.  He said the colors come from Fresno’s official flag, and has an ash leaf above the team name – noting that Fresno in Spanish means “ash tree”.

“It’s a great day for the city of Fresno and for soccer fans throughout the entire Central Valley,” said Fresno Mayor Lee Brand.  “Fresno is a city on the move, attracting more jobs and civic amenities to our community is an essential part of elevating the profile as a vibrant and prosperous city.”

Fresno FC games will begin in March of 2018.  You can buy tickets on their new website, FresnoFC.com.
