Fresno Police Open Tower District Satellite Office

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno Police opened a new satellite office on Wednesday in the Tower District. The police satellite station at 1302 N. Wishon Ave. is supposed to serve as a deterrent for crime against the residences and businesses in the area.  Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer says that for 25 years, the Tower had a Central Policing District – but it was forced to close during the most recent recession.  A new one opened up last year, but at Manchester Center.

“The opening of this satellite office will ensure an added presence beyond that of police officers in and around the Tower District – both the business district and the surrounding neighborhoods itself,” said Chief Dyer at the ribbon-cutting.

Tower District business owners and residents were at the opening of the center, excited to welcome the presence back and hoping it will make the area safer.  Mayor Lee Brand, Councilmembers Esmeralda Soria and Paul Caprioglio were also there for the ribbon-cutting.
