FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — 57-year-old Jeff Morales is departing from the California High-Speed Rail Authority this summer, after 5 years on the job.
He’ll officially leave in June, and says he’ll assist in the transition to a new director.
Despite uncertainties surrounding the bullet train’s future, Morales says nothing in particular prompted his decision.
Gov. Jerry Brown praised Morales in a statement Friday, for his leadership during “a very challenging period.”
