CA Auditor: Fresno State Employee Paid Around $22K to Play Games, Watch Videos

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — An unidentified Fresno State employee was paid around $22,000, for the time he spent watching YouTube videos, and playing online games in the office.

That’s according to the latest report from the California State Auditor’s office, which highlights ten investigations, that were sparked by whistle blower tips.

The Fresno State employee is said to have spent about half of his time, engaging in activities unrelated to work.

His response to investigators: it was only during what he calls downtime, or after tasks were completed early.

However, the university is not recommending that he be fired.

Instead, his supervisor has been instructed to give him more work, tell him to limit his internet use, and watch him more closely.
